Creative Commons
I was feeling all jazzed up about helping people to learn more about licensing (thanks for the nudge Francesca) but I think I've finally hit the post-HICK Tech wall. I'm zhausted. Basically though it goes like this:
"With a Creative Commons license, you keep your copyright but allow people to copy and distribute your work provided they give you credit — and only on the conditions you specify here. For those new to Creative Commons licensing, we've prepared a list of things to think about. If you want to offer your work with no conditions, choose the public domain."
To find the best license for your work, use the form on the CC Web site.
Once you know the best license for your purposes, head back to Flickr.
- Click on your username (top right of the screen).
- Choose the "privacy & permissions" tab.
- Scroll down to the license information and click "edit."
- Select the correct license for your photographs and save your work
- Tada!
